Iggy Azalea: I won’t let social media dictate | arts and entertainment
Iggy Azalea refuses to let social media dictate her life.
The 32-year-old rap star – who has two-year-old Onyx with her ex-boyfriend Playboi Carti – took to Twitter to hit back at her critics, insisting she won’t allow them to influence her lifestyle or the decisions she makes.
Iggy – who often voices his opinions on social media – wrote on the micro-blogging platform: “The craziest thing about the internet is that you don’t care what anyone’s opinion is. whatever… but think I’m supposed to let yours dictate my life?!?!
“I don’t care about yours either! (sic)”
Iggy has previously confessed to feeling “perplexed” by Twitter’s arguments, calling the platform “crazy”.
The chart-topping rap star has been on Twitter since 2010 and now has more than seven million followers – but Iggy admitted to feeling confused by some of the things she reads online.
She said: “The s*** ppl fight on Twitter is crazy. Every time I log in I’m puzzled as f*** as to what’s happening on my timeline lmaoooo byeeeeeeee (sic)”
Iggy is currently on a break from the music industry.
And the ‘Work’ hitmaker previously confessed that his initial ambition in life was to become a model rather than a rapper.
She shared, “In the early 2000s I was obsessed with modeling competitions. I would watch all these shows and I had the fantasy of sending my pictures to a modeling agency and they were like, ‘You’re gonna be The Next Model!’
“Of course I was only 11 or 12 and I used to do my makeup in a way that I thought was really trendy, I would print them out and send them to a modeling agency, which is now traumatic thinking about an intern opening an envelope with all these pictures of an 11-year-old girl thinking she’s a model.”
