Digital detox: here’s why Camila Cabello left social media

Camila Cabello, the Cuban-American singer and songwriter has decided to quit social media and get a digital detox. The “Havana” singer took to her official Instagram account on Sunday to make the announcement to her 59 million subscribers on the microblogging site.

The 24-year-old singer wants to spend a little less time on her phone this week as she enters the New Year, she explained.

Some time ago, the singer also announced her separation from her boyfriend Shawn Mendes, with whom she had been dating for two years. The two were friends for many years before formalizing their relationship as a couple.

“Hey guys, we have decided to end our romantic relationship, but our love for each other as humans is stronger than ever … We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to do so. “Be best friends. We so appreciate your support to start and move forward,” the two men said on November 17 in a joint statement.

According to media reports, it was the ‘Mercy’ singer who initiated the breakup conversation with Cabello, who was very upset about the separation. According to

For the former “Fifth Harmony” singer, it has been a busy few months with the single drop out and her new movie “Cinderella” which was released earlier this year. Cabello also recently performed in the White House, according to

During the
PBS Special ‘In Performance at the White House: Spirit of the Season’, airing on December 21, the 24-year-old singer performed ‘I’ll Be Home for Christmas’ in mariachi. For his special performance, Cabello had his father Alejandro by his side.

“My mother is a Cuban immigrant, my father immigrated to the United States from Mexico and also recently became a citizen. The fact that I can honor my heritage and represent Latinos and that my father also shares this moment with me, it’s kind of like a crazy moment, “said Cabello
PBS in a video recently shared with
