Army to train bloggers and social media influencers in Anambra

The Nigerian Army is about to hold its 18th edition of the Social Media Seminar for Bloggers and Social Media Influencers.

The theme for this year’s edition is “The Nigerian Army’s Non-Kinetic Line of Operation: The Critical Roles of Social Media”.

The seminar is organized by the Army Headquarters, Department of Civilian Military Affairs in conjunction with Security Affairs International

This was revealed in a statement released by the Nigerian Army on its official Facebook page on Thursday.

The statement read in part: “Addressing the attendees of the event held today, Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the Hilton Leisure Resort and Hotels Awka, Anambra State, Chief Civil Affairs and military, Major General Marcus Kangye noted that the seminar, which started in 2018, is one of the ways the Nigerian military interacts with the civilian population to foster harmonious and cordial civil-military relations.

“General Kangye called on social media influencers, online bloggers/journalists to rally support for the Nigerian military and also encourage them to enlighten the public on the dangers of misinformation/fake news to general security from Nigeria.

“He noted that the seminar became necessary after realizing that millions of Nigerians rely on social media platforms as sources of information, hence the need for online influencers and journalists to check all the information available to them before sharing it on their various social media platforms and websites.
